In reply to <a href="https://mormonbeliefs.org/mormon_beliefs/who-is-jesus-christ/#comment-73765">anna smith</a>.

Mormons believe that Christ is eternal, but so are all of us. We have always existed in the universe as uncreated intelligences, with Christ being more intelligent than all of us. God the Father organized our spirits in what we call pre-mortal life. All things were created by the Father through Christ, also called The Word. During pre-mortal life, where all of us existed as the spirit children of God, our spirit brother, Lucifer, rebelled against the plan of salvation (with Christ as Savior) and was cast out with his followers. Thus, Christ is uncreated eternally, but was born as a spirit and then as a man with god-like characteristics from His Father. We are His brothers and sisters spiritually, as was Lucifer.

Mormons have a more complex view of heaven and hell because of revelations received through ancient and modern prophets. The main kingdoms of heaven are the Celestial, the Terrestrial, and the Telestial (1 Corinthians 15). All of these are kingdoms of glory. Among those who inherit the lowest (telestial) are some who rejected Christ both on earth and after death in the spirit world. These must suffer for their own sins, but their suffering is temporary. That period of suffering is called "hell." There is one more kingdom in the afterlife we call Outer Darkness. Satan and his followers are there. Heavenly Father's presence is not felt there. This is hell eternal where suffering never ends. The people who go there are called Sons of Perdition. They must have had a true witness of Christ, wherein the heavens opened and Christ descended. They then denied him, thus "crucifying Him anew." This is the unforgivable/ unpardonable sin, and the only one.

In reply to <a href="https://mormonbeliefs.org/mormon_beliefs/who-is-jesus-christ/#comment-120617">Ashley</a>.

Look at the word "creation" as an act of organization not making something come into existence from nothing. When God created this earth through His Son Jesus Christ, He organized chaotic matter which has always existed. Likewise, we have always existed in some form, originally as individual "intelligences," although the Lord has not told us much about that existence. God organized our bodies of spirit, and our spirits inhabit the physical bodies created by our earthly parents. When we die, our spirits separate from our bodies for a time. Our spirits live on and go to the Spirit World to await resurrection. The Spirit World itself is a place of progress, of reunion with those who have already passed on, and a place of learning. When we are resurrected, our perfect bodies are reunited with our spirits forever, which is our permanent, immortal state.

We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. God the Father and God the Son exist as glorious, resurrected men, while the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit. Sometimes God the Father is called Elohim, and Jesus Christ is Jehovah -- these are their names in heaven. We pray to the Father in the name of the Son, and God performs all His works through His Son.

It turns out Bethlehem was anciently the equivalent of a suburb of Jerusalem. Just like people from Sylmar, Ca will say they are from Los Angeles, there are even ancient records that have referred to Bethlehem being in the land of Jerusalem. So do not worry! That prophet can still be a prophet.

They are both valuable! And upon further introspection what might seem as a conflict often seems to just be a differing situation for one specific information. Or in other cases what seems a conflict is often an affirmation! If there are any conflicts you have we would love to help you understand! The Book of Mormon was never meant to replace the Bible. The Bible is a collection of many different prophets and their experiences and prophecies, the purpose being to testify of Christ. Hence the names Old and New Testament. The Old Testament testifies of Christ and his coming and the New Testament is of those who were eye witnesses of Christ and those following the teachings of his apostles. Likewise the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It's purpose to add further testimony of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Yes he was, and we believe that Christ is part of the Godhead, which consists of God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Ghost. We believe however that they are each separate beings, but they are one in will and purpose. We do not know exactly how the process of Christ's conception occurred. We do know that the scriptures say he was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Bethlehem anciently was referred to as lying in the "land of Jerusalem", or in modern terms it was like a suburb of Jerusalem lying less then 5 miles away. Thus it is not strange or incorrect for the prophecy to say Christ was to be born in Jerusalem. It is similar to someone from Sausalito, Ca saying they were from San Francisco, or replace that with any other big city and smaller suburb.
