In reply to donna.

The real name for the "Mormon Church" is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint. We do not believe in polygamy, there is a group of people that used to be LDS (LatterDay Saints) but then when we said they could not practice polygamy and still be a part of the church they split off and made their own church the Reorganized Church or Fundamental Latter Day Saints (FLDS) they still practice polygamy but are a splinter group from over a century ago. Mormons do not practice polygamy and if they were to try to they would be readily excommunicated. Thank you for trying to search out and find the answer! We really appreciate it!

In reply to Barry Hazel.

We believe that there were already people in the Americas before Lehi and his family came over, so we do not believe that all Native Americans are descendants of the Book of Mormon people we do believe that some of them are. But of course there has been so many intercultural marriages and such that the DNA evidence will not be very strong.

No. It is not true, that is a misunderstanding from an incident in the Book of Mormon. We follow Christ's example of being "no respector of persons" as taught in the Bible. Meaning God does not love or hold one above another because of race, nationality, social status, or popularity, he loves all, and we try to follow his example.
