The immaculate conception is about Mary being conceived by her parents without original sin as she was to be the mother of Jesus, the Savior. It’s not about how Jesus was conceived (which was through the power of the Holy Spirit).

As a "non-Mormon" member of the press who has covered some of the wonderful things your Just Serve organization as done for my community here in San Jacinto, California, I was impressed with the sincerity in this article to continually push for improvements in the way you help your own members. In the future, in articles I write about your church, I will start with the full name of the church and then use LDS if I need to reference it again.

I hope to continue to provide coverage of the many good works that The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints provides to our area, and to work with the local Stake President John Evans and Communications Director Jon Ranes.,

Sincerely,

Thank you for the welcome commentary. Personally, I am so sickened now by the world we now live in, and it is getting more complex and more degenerate by the day, or so it seems to me! I often wonder if there is something seriously wrong with me, if I am turning into an ageing prude (I am in my early 50s), but I am raging against the cancer of political correctness - namely the forced abolition of racism, sexism, and every other kind of 'ism', except, it seems, bias against anyone who says that such things as blasphemy, homosexuality, and obscenity are wrong. Critics will howl that any adverse comment about these things stifle one's so-called 'freedom of choice' and 'human rights'. Try speaking out on social media and you get an avalanche of hate mail, condemning you as the most hateful, bigoted person alive. And I especially despair of the inane posting of such idiocies as selfies and the even more gormless twitterings one sees via social media. There is so much incredible trivia that now clutters our daily lives.

Businesses say people are lazy and do not want to work, and yet more and more banks, insurance companies, public service offices and so many other organisations are closing down hand over fist and going online, sending any remaining production or customer service work overseas to access cheap labour. I seethe over the proliferation of self service kiosks in supermarkets and large department stores, wondering how many much needed jobs these have devoured. Not all of us are hi-tech users. Not all of us have ready access to the internet 24/7, and there is a huge number of people with handicaps or disabilities e.g. blindness, hearing loss, for whom the digital world is a rapidly evolving nightmare. I am so tired and dispirited, and can only hang onto our Saviours great promise, but I do stumble in faith, especially when I can't get a decent job or achieve even a few of the dreams and aspirations I once set for myself. I now wonder why I even try.
